About the artwork:
The artwork was realized by edie in collaboration with LucaOl in the streets of Naples in October 2023 following the beginning of the bloody israeli assault on Gaza. The video of the street action became immediatly viral on Social Media Platforms with tens millions views. It was then banned from Tik Tok, shadowbanned on Fbook but resisted on Instagram. During the street performance edie was taken to a police station and kept for hours by investigative police. This was the first of a series of very popular detournement actions made by the artist in support of Palestinian struggle for freedom during the Gaza Massacre. Edie is a former award winning photojournalist (World Press Photo, SONY World Photo Award) who was based in Middle East (2007/2013). His commitment for palestinian cause comes from the harsh experiences he lived on the ground during that period.
