This Artwork has been realized on the original advertising posters for Frida Khalo's exhibition- at the time of the exhibition, in May 2022, eide was able to get 5 orignal copies of the advertising poster from the streets of the city - then in 2024 upon request from a client he transformed the posters in one of his most unique and exclusive artworks.
About the artwork:
The artwork was realized by edie in the streets of Naples in May 2022 as a detournement action on an Ad Poster for Frida Khalo's "Immersive" exhibition in Napoli. The video of the street action became immediatly viral on Social Media Platforms.
This is part of a series of very popular detournement actions made by the artist on public advertisings and posters in support of Palestinian struggle for freedom. edie is a former award winning photojournalist (World Press Photo, SONY World Photo Award) who was based in Middle East (2007/2013). His commitment for palestinian cause comes from the harsh experiences he lived on the ground during that period.
