About the artwork:
The artwork was realized by edie in the streets of Naples in November 2023 during the first weeks of the bloody israeli assault on Gaza. It was a detournement action on an Ad Poster for a Caravaggio's exhibition in Museo di Capodimonte. The video of the street action became immediatly viral on Social Media Platforms.
This is part of a series of very popular detournement actions made by the artist on public advertisings and posters in support of Palestinian struggle for freedom during the Gaza massacre. edie is a former award winning photojournalist (World Press Photo, SONY World Photo Award) who was based in Middle East (2007/2013). His commitment for palestinian cause comes from the harsh experiences he lived on the ground during that period.
